Dear Future Me,

As graduation approaches school and the work seem to get harder, I think it’s related to the fact that its so close to being over. The situation now is causing me to be tired and frustrated at how slowly the time seems to move. It also annoys me that I feel in such a way about something that is about to be over and set in stone. Through high school I don’t feel I made many accomplishments but overall am satisfied that we managed to finish school. For the moment I am not too sure about continuing to pursue education after high school, but I don’t expect that to be a permanent decision and would like to see myself pick something eventually. Some valuable advice that I would give my younger self after experiencing high school is to just do the bare minimum, I learned that it took more effort to put myself in an unsteady position than it did to recover from it and make up work. Also, that socializing is important to developing skills that can be used outside of school. In the future I hope to be financially stable and own a home that I could work on myself. The job I want to have in the future has to do with being an electrician as I have had experience with labor jobs growing up. Some concerns that I have with the step after high school is the unknown of how things will occur, I know that getting a job and going to college sometimes doesn’t happen as easily as a person would like. Some traits I learned that I want to keep on improving in life are the ability to schedule better because of how once I started using it more towards the end of high school, I saw my progress in classes somewhat improve and found myself catching up. I think that during high school I did not really look for an influence or someone to look up to and that played a major part in me not being motivated to complete work and focusing on important tasks I had to do. Even though the lack of role models made it difficult I understood to an extent that success was needed to later on live somewhat comfortably. In the next 5 Years I want to be able to purchase my home and vehicle while also having a secure job in an electrical company, I plan to outsource my income as well in things like investments and business ventures. Regardless of what I find myself doing 5 years from now, I expect myself to at least figure out my schooling situation and have savings in the bank along with a decent credit score. Future me hopefully has learned how to budget to an even finer degree and understands that unnecessary spending can be turned into financial gain. I also want myself to gain a better grasp on self-control and prevent myself from repeating past mistakes.
